Accountant

Westernacher Business Management Consulting is a German integrated business and IT consulting company. With more than 500 professionals worldwide and locations in Europe, USA and Asia, Westernacher has been a trusted service provider for its customers since 1969. Due to our business activity expansion, we are currently looking to employ a highly motivated Accountant to join our team in China.

As Accountant, you are going to be responsible for the general accounting function, including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules, ledgers, account and bank reconciliations. You are also going to assist the management with monthly closings and account analysis as well as supporting the finance manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance Department.

Main areas of responsibilities:                                                                    

  • Prepare journal entries using SAP system
  • Complete general ledger operations
  • Do monthly closings and prepare monthly financial statements
  • Prepare analysis of accounts as requested
  • Prepare tax computations, monthly tax filing and tax returns
  • Monitor and resolve bank issues / bank reconciliations
  • Review and process expense reports
  • Maintain a fixed asset register
  • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
  • Liaise with the management and clients 
  • Liaise with banks, auditors and government department related, e.g. Tax bureau, SAFE etc. Keep a good relationship with authorities

Education and Experience:

  • Accounting degree or equivalent, with at least two years of experience in the accounting field
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of Chinese accounting regulations, taxation law and IFRS
  • Hands-on accounting technical skills and analytical mindset
  • SAP system knowledge is preferred
  • Good proficiency of English in both writing and speaking
